5. Circumstances We Disclose Your Personal Information to Third Parties
We never sell your full payment information to external parties. We share limited personal data only for legitimate business needs with the following authorized groups:
5.1 Service Providers Acting On Our Behalf
Shopify (site hosting, checkout, payment infrastructure), payment processors (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Stripe), US fulfillment warehouses, shipping carriers, email marketing software, cloud data storage and fraud detection tools. All vendors sign binding data confidentiality agreements and may only process your data per our written instructions.
5.2 Advertising & Marketing Partners
Meta (Facebook Pixel), Google Ads, Google Analytics. These partners receive limited identifiers (device IDs, cookie data, order conversion signals) to deliver targeted pet product ads. This sharing qualifies as a “sale/sharing” under California CCPA law (see Section 10 for opt-out rights). These third parties operate under their own separate privacy policies.
5.3 Your Explicit Consent or Direct Request
We share data when you authorize us, such as social media login integrations, shipping label generation or third-party review platforms you choose to use.
5.4 Corporate Affiliates & Business Transfers
We may share data within our corporate group for internal business operations. If our business undergoes a merger, acquisition, asset sale or bankruptcy, customer personal data may be transferred as part of business assets, subject to the same privacy protections outlined here.
5.5 Mandatory Legal Disclosures
We will release your information when legally required: responding to court orders, government regulatory requests, to defend our legal rights, or protect the safety of our customers and the public.
6. Relationship Between OKCLEVER and Shopify
Our entire store infrastructure is hosted by Shopify. When you submit data on our Site, your personal information is transmitted to Shopify’s secure cloud servers to operate checkout, accounts and order processing. Shopify may store and process your data in jurisdictions outside your residential country.
Shopify uses enhanced data features to analyze cross-merchant shopping trends, optimize advertising tools and improve platform security. Shopify acts as an independent data controller for data it processes for its own platform improvement purposes.
You may review Shopify’s full consumer privacy policy and submit data rights requests directly via Shopify’s official privacy portal: https://privacy.shopify.com/en
7. Cookies, Tracking Pixels & Targeted Advertising Controls
We use multiple tracking technologies on our Site, split into two categories for consumer control:
1. Necessary Functional Cookies: Required to complete checkout, save cart items, secure account logins and process orders. You cannot disable these without breaking core shopping functionality on our Site.
2. Optional Marketing & Analytics Tracking: Includes advertising cookies, Meta/Google pixels and browsing behavior trackers used for targeted pet product ads and store traffic analytics. You may fully disable these tracking tools at any time.
How to Opt Out of Non-Essential Tracking
· Use the cookie consent pop-up that loads on your first Site visit to uncheck all marketing tracking boxes.
· Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals in your browser; we automatically honor GPC requests to opt you out of cross-site targeted advertising for your device and linked account.
· Adjust your browser’s privacy settings to block third-party cookies permanently. We do not recognize generic browser “Do Not Track” signals outside of official GPC standards.
8. Children’s Privacy (COPPA U.S. Federal Compliance)
The Services are strictly intended for users aged 13 years or older, in full compliance with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect, store or share personal data of any child under 13 without verifiable written parental consent.
We never target marketing or advertisements to visitors under the age of 13. If you are a parent or legal guardian and confirm we have unintentionally collected data from your child under 13, email our privacy team at service1@okclevervet.com. We will permanently erase all child-related records within 15 business days after identity verification.
9. Data Security & Data Retention Schedule
9.1 Security Protections
All payment information is processed via PCI DSS encrypted Shopify payment gateways. We implement industry-standard firewalls, encrypted data storage and access limits for internal staff to protect your personal data. However, no online data transmission or digital storage method is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute invulnerability against unknown security breaches. Avoid sharing sensitive payment details via unencrypted email or chat channels.
9.2 Fixed Data Retention Timelines
We only keep your personal data as long as required to fulfill the purpose it was collected, per legal and business rules:
1. Completed order transaction records: Retained for 7 full years to meet U.S. federal tax audit requirements.
2. Active customer accounts: All account data stored until you submit an account deletion request.
3. Marketing email subscriber data: Retained for 2 years after you opt out of promotional emails.
4. Anonymous browsing/tracking analytics data: Automatically de-identified and purged after 12 months.
5. Unresolved support tickets, return or dispute records: Retained until the issue is fully closed, then archived for 1 additional year.
6. Exception: We may extend retention if required by active legal investigations, fraud claims or pending litigation.

5. Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: You may opt out of our sharing your data with advertising partners for cross-site targeted pet product ads (classified as a “sale” under California law).
o One-click opt-out link located in the footer of every page on our Site labeled “Do Not Sell My Personal Information”.
o Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals will automatically activate this opt-out for your device.
6. Right to Non-Discrimination: We will never charge higher prices, hide products, or provide worse service if you exercise any of your CCPA privacy rights.
How to Submit California Privacy Requests
Submit all access, deletion or opt-out requests by emailing service1@okclevervet.com with subject line “CCPA Privacy Request”. We will verify your identity before processing your request and respond within the mandatory 45 business day timeline required by California law. You may assign an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf with written proof of your authorization.
11. General Consumer Privacy Rights (All Global Visitors)
All users worldwide have the following rights independent of California state law:
· Unsubscribe from all promotional marketing emails instantly via the “unsubscribe” link included at the bottom of every marketing email. After unsubscribing, we will still send critical transactional emails for your open orders, refunds and account security alerts.
· Request full permanent account deletion and removal of all your stored personal data (excluding mandatory tax/legal records).
· File a formal complaint about our data processing practices by contacting our privacy team, or submit a complaint to your local regional data protection authority.
12. International Data Transfers
Your personal information may be transferred to, stored and processed in servers located outside your residential country, including the United States and Canada (Shopify’s primary hosting regions).
For users residing within the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom (UK): All cross-border data transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or UK equivalent approved data transfer contracts, unless data is sent to a country formally deemed to provide adequate privacy protection by EU regulators.
13. Third-Party External Links
Our Site may contain hyperlinks to external third-party websites (social media platforms, pet blog partners, review sites). We have no control over the privacy policies or data practices of these external websites. We strongly recommend you read their independent privacy policies before submitting any personal information on external sites. We are not liable for data collection conducted by unaffiliated third-party platforms.
14. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy periodically to align with new federal/state U.S. privacy laws, update our data processing workflows or adjust third-party partner disclosures. All revised versions will be published on our Site with an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this document. Where legally required, we will notify registered account holders of material policy changes via email.
